Vhitney and Lizzie Ya!

My best friend Whitney is my best friend! I don't know how I would have survived High School without her! She was an answer to a prayer when I was in need of a friend. Every time I think of baking cakes and speaking German in Anatomy class I think of her and the great times we had together. She is an amazing friend, who is a great example to me. And if she likes it or not, she is stuck being my best friend forever.

Living on the edge

Let's just say I don't live my life on the edge when it comes to driving. I can't and won't text while driving, I can't and won't talk on the phone while driving, and let's just say I have never tried putting my leg on the dash to shave right before work. So when it comes to the speed limit, I have to go the speed limit. And last week I jumped off the edge and went 95 while driving with my friend Enoch. Of course he was driving at the time but I lived on the edge for a full 30 seconds! Needless to say I was shaking afterwards.

Can't erase it

I truly believe that there is one person whom we are meant to be with forever. I have seen it. My grandparents, Nina and Papa. I like to cling to the belief that life is not a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences. No, I think its a continual line of events that culminate together in an exquisite plan. I read somewhere in a book that the ancients called it "fatum", today we refer to it as destiny. I know someone who has become a very special person to me. I can tell him my funny and crazy thoughts and ideas and he simply accepts them and tells me that I can make them happen. I'm happiest when I am with him. There is this quote by an unknown author who stated, "Don't give up on a person you can't go a day without thinking about." And I haven't.

Bouquet of Pencils

So as I was signing up for my fall classes and taking the math placement test, I deduced something... In the creative world, people who understand pencils, paper, and color usually aren't computer people. And the people who understand computers and numbers aren't the artistic people, so they are always on the opposite ends of the line.

Movie Quotes from "Forrest Gump"

  • Bubba: Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
  • Forrest Gump: What's my destiny, Mama? Mrs. Gump: You're gonna have to figure that out for yourself.
  • Mrs. Gump: You have to do the best with what God gave you.

Livin' the life of a lifeless lifeguard

I have been a lifeguard for three years now and I have been trained to watch the water, act in a heartbeat, and give parents peace of mind. But through it all, I have done a lot of daydreaming while sitting on my guard stand. But dreaming isn't a sin, so I think I will continue to dream my dreams.

Love Chairs

I was shopping at an antique shop and found these chairs that spelled out my name!

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was not only one of the biggest motion picture stars in Hollywood, but also a major fashion influence. Her gamine and elfin appearance and widely recognized sense of chic were both admired and imitated. And through all the stardom, lights, and cameras, she remained true to herself. She preferred a quiet life with family and nature. She lived in houses, not mansions, and loved to garden. She had charm, innocence, and talent. She was comfortable in her own skin, she was down to earth, and she wasn't afraid to stand out.

Movie Quotes from Willy Wonka

  • Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple. That's 105%!

  • A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.

  • You should never doubt what nobody is sure about.

  • No no, don't speak- for some moments in life there are no words.

  • There is no life to compare with pure imagination. Living there you'll be free, if you truly wish to be.

  • Mr. Salt: What is this Wonka, some kind of funhouse? Willy Wonka: Why having fun?

  • We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.

Sweet Treat

You know, as much as I love candy dots, I always end up eating the paper.

You know, I was thinking, anyone who uses the phrase 'easy as taking candy from a baby' has never tried taking candy from a baby.

Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy

This is our new chocolate toy poodle, Mr. Darcy. He just got back from the groomer's today. I think he looks more like art than a dog really.

Movie Quote from "Serendipity"

Eve: Prada! ooh! Prada!
Salesman: That's 20 bucks.
Sara: Eve, that's a horrific Knockoff! At least my knockoff says 'Pradi', yours says 'Prado'!
Eve: Well, I say for a dollar I can buy a magic marker and fix that. I'll take it!

I love this scene in the movie because it's how I live my life: I find a bargain and I go with it- no matter how fake the thing is!

My Brothers

Yes, I'll admit it is my job to be annoying towards my brothers. It's a big sister's duty. For example: It snowed last year: I made a snowman and my brother knocked it down, and then I knocked my brother's snowman down, and then we went inside to get some hot chocolate. The teasing games never stop. But through all the games, we manage to still be best friends.

My Dad

I have been without a dad for eight years now. They say time heals all wounds but I think time just numbs wounds. If I wrote about my dad's life, his accomplishments, and talents this post would be too long. While suffering with substance abuse for many years due to a car accident, my father underwent years of surgeries that led to dependency on prescripton drugs. His body had to shut down before his spirit wanted to. On the day he died, he had written in his journal, "Today is a new day and I can beat this!". And while I complain about life's struggles and hardships, I am reminded of his wise words, and so I get up every morning, breath in and out, and try to live life to the fullest! For both my dad and me.

Movie quote from "You've Got Mail"

"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the heck they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just one cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall! Decaf! Cappuccino!"

Plain and Simple
