I Miss Reagan

I desperately desire for the days when a President’s promise was his binding word. When his greatest asset at stake was not his popularity or public recognition, but rather the maintenance of his personal honor and dignity. If government were ran with those simple ideals, we would all live in a very different country.  What ever happened to "by the people, for the people"? There has been a shift of power which would now make that statement read "By the elites, for the elites". It's as though the government no longer trusts us to make our decisions regarding our country. They'd rather fill our head with empty promises while campagning, and once they take office, they'll make radical changes that insult our responsibility, and limit our freedom. No one doubted him when he said he'd make "all of our problems go away". And instead of doing that, he seems to have created more problems. It's time someone let him know this country belongs to me as much as it belongs to him.
